Theta Chi and the USO

Theta Chi began its partnership with the USO (United Service Organizations) in 2013, making it the Fraternity’s official philanthropy. Each chapter is expected to raise at least $1,000 for the USO per academic year and participate in Operation Military Red, a fundraising and service competition between chapters of Theta Chi.

In the 2014/2016 biennium, Theta Chi chapters reported raising $302,937.68 for the USO, with 41,371 man hours in volunteer service.

About the USO

The USO lifts the spirits of America’s troops and their families millions of times each year at hundreds of places worldwide. They provide a touch of home through centers at airports and military bases in the U.S. and abroad, top quality entertainment and innovative programs and services. The USO also provides critical support to those who need it most, including forward-deployed troops, military families, wounded warriors and families of the fallen. The USO is a private, non-profit organization, not a government agency. Their programs and services are made possible by the American people, support of our corporate partners and the dedication of our volunteers and staff.

Theta Chi Fraternity is fortunate to have the Regional Development Manager of the USO, Kyndele Cooke, working closely with the International Headquarters staff. If you have questions about the USO, Kyndele can be reached at kcooke@uso.org.
